When China can really grow up?

China's history during 1840 to 1949 is full of shame and oppress.
On June 28 1840, the First Opium War between China and Britain broke out since some of the officials from government banned opium in certain part of China . The war continued until August 1842. The result was the come up of Nanjing Treaty in which it declared that HongKong was part of Britain and China should pay Britain 21million yuan.
On October 1856, the Second Opium War between China and the unite army from Britain and France broke out because some evil countries wanted to get more benefits from China. The war continued until 1860. The result was another unfair treaty named Tianjing Treaty. Of course according the treaty the Chinese government had to paid a lot of gold and silver and gave those countries rights of several cities. The most horrible thing was not just the treaty. The enemies did kinds of bad things which were incredible for human beings to think of and they robbed and burned the YuanMing Park which was full of treasures and jewelries.
On July 4 1871, Russia invaded YiLi and killed lots of local people and individually declared that it was their land forever. On October 31 1871,Beijing Treaty between China and Japan was formed. On 1876, Yantai Treaty was formed. On April 17 1895, Maguan Treaty between China and Japan was formed. On September 7 1901, Xinchou Treaty was formed.
I cannot write down more treaties any more although there are still a lot which were all unfair. It is definitely correct to say that Chinese people were robbed and oppressed by others for centuries.
Until 1949, the new Chinese government was founded and Chair Mao announced that Chinese people have stood up. However, do Chinese people really stand up since 1949. In 1950, American army invaded north Korean and threatened the new formed Chinese government since China and north Korean were separated by just a river. So the People's Army went to north Korean to fought the American. In 1962, the war between China and India broke out in southwestern part of China. India got a lot support from two super countries at that time. From 1950 until 1985, the relationship between China and Russia was deteriorated. The two countries put millions army in the border. The war may break out at any time. Although China mainland was unified, Taiwan had not been unified for half a century already. The Xizang independence problem had not yet been solved. The Europeans and American tried every efforts to prevent China to become one of the most powerful countries in the world. They spread the ridiculous message that China is a threat. So whenever China did some activity with high technology, they told the world that China was doing something bad. I don't understand why they don't allow others to do it except themselves. Japan was even more cheeky. Not only the Japanese government didn't confess the sin, but also the Japanese government always tried to hide the truth and cheat their people. What makes feel uncomfortable is that why other countries would like to be so ironhearted to a country with a history full of unfairness.
Maybe the world is just like that. There is no love between different countries. Sometimes they do good things just is because they want to be known as kind or for their own interest. The only way to gain respect is be more powerful and much stronger. I'm waiting for that day to come!

You describe many of the unfortunate oppressions faced by the Chinese people from outsiders, Qing Hua. Thank you for the summary. It's quite well done. Of course, it's impossible to be thorough in a brief blog post. As a non-Chinese, I wonder about the views inside China toward the incidences when the Chinese people were "oppressed" by their own leaders. What's your opinion, for example, of the so-called Cultural Revolution?

You also say there is no love between countries, But I think Europe defies that statement. After centuries of fighting each other, the Europeans have decided that cooperation is the best solution to differences. They have taken a win-win approach in forming the European Union, so that each country and its respective people benefit. I hope that for the sake of peace and prosperity in Asia for all Asians, each and every respective people, that China will do the same.

Thank you for your hard work this term, Qing Hua. & good luck in the future!

Special for Mr Blackstone: I also hope that all the Asian countries can unite together. However, each country thinks in different ways. Maybe we still need some time and wait.
